Melissa . . . the Owner
Melissa is our owner. She and her husband Scott purchased the store in September of 2006. They have made some changes but have tried to keep the feel that Ceramica has undisturbed. Melissa teaches 5th grade part time and is the mother of three very active teenagers. Melissa brings to the store her love of creativity and is impressed every day with the pieces painted at the store. Most importantly there is never a day you will find her without a smile on her face!
Meghan . . . the Manager
Meghan has worked at Ceramica since August of 2004. She has managed the store for the last two owners and does a fantastic job! There is nothing she doesn't know about the workings of Ceramica; if you have questions she's the one to ask. She works most days and can help with handprints, auction pieces, wedding plates and more. Meghan currently attends Boise State University; she is majoring in History with a minor in Political Science.
Anna . . . the Returnee
Anna has been with Ceramica since August 2005. She is considered our returnee, because after being an au pair in France for a year and a summer in Salt Lake City interning for Maggie Sottero, she has come back to us at Ceramica. Anna currently attends Boise State University; she is double majoring in Graphic Design and French. Anna is definately our art expert and the most talkative of all the ladies.
Kyra . . . the Perfectionist
Kyra has worked at Ceramica since the spring of 2007. She is the store perfectionist because none of the other ladies get a paint pen line as fine as she does. Kyra is currently saving her pennies to travel the world; she hopes to be leaving soon to visit either Asia or South America. Kyra is our quiet one, but every day she brings her happy calming aura to the store.
Sam . . . the Ambassador
Sam is the newest of the ladies, joining us in December of 2007. Sam was hired to help out teaching our preschool classes, but has since taken over the original preschools as well as a few new ones! Sam moved to Idaho after she and her husband Nick, who is part of the U.S. Air Force, were married. Sam is currently attending Boise State University; she is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Sam has a bubbly personality and is loved by her preschoolers.
Kylie . . . the Helper
Kylie, Melissa's daughter, takes time out of her busy schedule to help out around the store. She is currently a senior in high school, but will be attending college in California in the fall of 2009 on a soccer scholarship. Kylie is energetic and loves to help out, and since working at the store has become quiet the artist!
Rani . . . the Legend
Rani has been with Ceramica since the store opened. She was eighteen and still in high school then and now she has grown up and has a beautiful family. Rani earned her degree in illustration from Boise State University as well as a degree in Graphic Design from Utah State. The third Thursday of the month you can find Rani in the store from 6-8 teaching various techniques and sharing her years of knowledge! She is a treasure!
